We check the qualification. That is all.
Every Gold Star Sitter is a qualified early childhood educator or teacher. We sight the certificate and confirm the name on it matches the profile before it goes live. Everything else on a profile is the sitter’s own statement.

What we do not do
- We do not check Working with Children Checks.
- We do not look up VIT registration.
- We do not see or keep police checks.
- We do not contact referees.
- We do not check first aid certificates.
- We do not interview sitters or check identity documents.
We ask for as little as we need to say one thing truthfully: every sitter holds the qualification on their profile.
What the sitter agrees to
Every sitter accepts our sitter terms. They agree to hold a current Victorian Working with Children Check or VIT registration and keep it current. We do not check it, you do. They must tell us straight away if it is suspended, cancelled or lapses. They must not tick a box for something they do not have.
That is a promise from the sitter, not a check by us. Ask to see the documents when you meet. Our safety and interview guide covers what to look for.
What the badge on a profile means
“Qualification sighted” means we saw the certificate for the qualification shown, on the date shown, and the name on it matched the profile. We saw it once and deleted the copy. The other items on a profile are listed as declared by the sitter.
