Sitter terms

Plain English and short on purpose. You accept these when you apply.

  1. 1Gold Star Sitters is an introduction site. We show your profile to parents. We are not your employer, your agent or a party to any job you take.
  2. 2You must be 18 or over, legally able to work in Australia, and hold a Certificate III, Diploma or Bachelor in early childhood, or a teaching degree. We sight your certificate once and confirm the name on it matches your profile. We record the qualification and the date we sighted it and delete the copy.
  3. 3You agree to hold a current Victorian Working with Children Check or VIT registration, and to keep it current. We do not check it, parents do. You tick a box to say you have it, and you show it to parents at interview. Tell us straight away if it is suspended, cancelled or lapses.
  4. 4Everything else on your profile is your own statement. First aid, police check, references, licence and car are tick boxes. Do not tick what you do not have.
  5. 5You set your own rate and your own hours, and you agree those with the parent. The parent pays you directly. We never handle the money and we do not invoice on your behalf. Tax, ABN and super are yours to sort out.
  6. 6You are not insured by us. If you want cover for your own liability or injury, arrange it yourself.
  7. 7Parents you have messaged and who you have replied to can review you. You can post one reply. We remove reviews that break the review rules in our FAQ and nothing else.
  8. 8Your profile is hidden after 60 days without a login. Log in to bring it back.
  9. 9We can remove your profile at any time if we think it is false, unsafe or against these terms. To delete your profile, email us and we will delete it.
  10. 10We are not liable for anything that happens in a job. Our liability to you is limited to what the law does not let us exclude.
